Property covers 10,653 hectares (107 square km) on the northern tip of the Antofalla salar straddling the Salta/Catamarca provincial limit.
The property immediately to the south was explored in 2009-2011 by the Brazilian company Vale de Rio Doce with several drill holes to depths of 300m+ encountering reported grades in the order of 1,000-4,000ppm K and 100-400ppm Li (source: Bolland SA public document). Vale returned the property to the underlying owner Bolland SA in 2015. In 2016, the current owner Albermarle Ltd. acquired the property rights from Bolland.
Geological interpretation suggests a deep, fault-bounded basin with Li-K bearing brine aquifer.
Strategically located within 80km of a railhead at Tolar Grande and 130km from the Chile-Argentina border.
Since no work has yet been completed by South American Salars (Advantage Lithium’s entity in Argentina), the property will require a first-stage prospecting level exploration program of pit sampling followed by geophysics and drilling pending target generation.
Located in Salta province on the border with Chile.
Property consists of 9,843 hectares (98 square km) with SQM holding the ground immediately on the Chilean side of the border. The Salta provincial entity REMSA holds the remaining portion of the salar to the south of the South American Salars/Advantage Lithium ground.
Good strategic location that could benefit from proximity to Chile with the port of Antofagasta only 250km to the west.
Very preliminary surface sampling indicates a low lithium but high potash salar target with high free calcium values but offset by high Mg values.
Provides a potential source of high-calcium brine as a blend into other SAS salar production in order to provide an optimum mix.
A systematic sampling program is required to better understand the salar extent and depth.
Follow-up geophysics consisting of gravity and ATM technique would provide targets for a shallow drilling program at minimum budget outlay.
Preliminary discussions have been held with REMSA (the Salta province holding company) to assess possible future consolidation of the salar.
A large 21,276 hectare (213 square km) property approximately 80km due east of Advantage’s principal Cauchari project in Jujuy province.
Excellent location within infrastructure corridor of gas and power lines, and good road access to Chile in the west and Brazil to the northeast.
Based on preliminary, limited surface sampling (n=68) this aquifer appears to be richer in potash relative to lithium as follows:
Good chemical parameters with low Mg/Li, etc.
Initial estimates suggest depth of the basin at +300m
Synergies with the relatively close Cauchari project and Olaroz operation
First-stage exploration program will be required consisting of surface sampling, geophysics, and rotary drilling once drill targets and dimensions of the aquifer are better understood.
The property has an attractive profile as a source of potash with lithium as a by-product and good transportation access to markets in Brazil.
Advantage Lithium is a lithium explorer and developer with top tier management and an international portfolio of quality assets. The Company has a partnership with Orocobre - one of Argentina’s leading lithium producers - to develop its Cauchari JV asset, which hosts an inferred resource and includes a large exploration target. Orocobre is the largest single shareholder of Advantage Lithium.
The Advantage Lithium team has a track record of making discoveries and building companies and, having launched in July 2016, the Company has hit a series of major milestones in a very short space of time. Advantage Lithium is listed on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol AAL.
